As part of our ongoing SlickPic Academy presentation series, we were pleased to host San Francisco & Provence-based National Geographic photographer, Catherine Karnow in July for her talk on “The Essence of Photographing People” – Part 1. It was, put simply, riveting. Catherine takes a uniquely photojournalistic view of creating great photos of people, creating deep connections en route to making powerful, emotional portraits.
In “The Essence of Photographing People, Part Two – Surprising Techniques and Compelling Portrait Stories” Catherine will continue to share the secrets to creating great photographs of people. She will show you how it’s done.
Learn important and surprising techniques – some of which may have nothing to do with photography at all – that help capture personality and improve the quality of your images.
She will also present several Portrait Stories, including the story of how she met and made her legendary photograph: Woman on a Train [in Vietnam].
