Challenge 27: Center Composition

/, Inspiration/Challenge 27: Center Composition

Welcome to week 27 of the 2024 SlickPic 52-week Photo Challenge! Thanks for being on the journey, and being committed to improving your skills.

This week’s Challenge is: Center Composition

This week’s challenge is center composition. Unlike traditional rules that suggest placing your subject off-center, centering your subject creates a strong sense of symmetry and focus. This technique draws the viewer’s eye directly to the subject, emphasizing its importance and often creating a more intimate connection. Use this method to explore balance and simplicity in your photography. For more insights and examples, you can explore Shotkit and Expert Photography.

Need some tips and ideas? We suggest checking out these useful guides from Digital Photography School, and Photo Life.

SlickPic was created by a group of like-minded photographers and photography-enthusiasts who wanted a service that wouldn't force them to conform to a certain style or niche, but one that would allow them the freedom to use their photos to tell whatever stories they want. They wanted a service that was capable of storing, showcasing, sharing, and displaying photos in all the different ways people use photos: some are meant just for family, some are taken for friends, and some are made for the world to see.
