Challenge 15: Macro

/, Inspiration/Challenge 15: Macro

Welcome to week 15 of the 2024 SlickPic 52-week Photo Challenge! Thanks for being on the journey, and being committed to improving your skills.

This week’s Challenge is: Macro

Macro photography is all about exploring the world of the small and the realm of details. Think of tiny subjects and objects, interesting textures, and miniature scenes that typically go unnoticed. With this genre, you can get up close to bugs and small critters, showcase the details of plants and flowers, and experiment with unusual subjects like water droplets. You’re only limited by your creativity and curiosity!

To create macro images, you’ll need specialized macro equipment like lenses, macro tubes, and lighting. But of course, the right macro photography techniques also matter whatever your chosen subject.

Need to brush up on your macro photography knowledge? Check out this Photofocus guide on exploring tiny worlds with macro photography, Adobe’s macro photography tips, and Digital Photography School’s complete guide to breathtaking macro images.

SlickPic was created by a group of like-minded photographers and photography-enthusiasts who wanted a service that wouldn't force them to conform to a certain style or niche, but one that would allow them the freedom to use their photos to tell whatever stories they want. They wanted a service that was capable of storing, showcasing, sharing, and displaying photos in all the different ways people use photos: some are meant just for family, some are taken for friends, and some are made for the world to see.
