Challenge 18: Portrait Photography

/, Inspiration/Challenge 18: Portrait Photography

Welcome to week 18 of the 2024 SlickPic 52-week Photo Challenge! Thanks for being on the journey, and being committed to improving your skills.

This week’s Challenge is: Portrait Photography

One of the most popular genres, portrait photography involves capturing the identity, character, and personality of your subject. If you want to take it up a notch, you can even use portraits to tell a story. To do this, you’ll need to skillfully and creatively use lighting, posing, locations, and backgrounds. The right equipment will help you get the best results, but having the right mindset, vision, and goals is more important.

Portrait photography opens us up to many possibilities and applications, so feel free to explore and let your creativity shine in this challenge. You can utilize the controlled environment of a studio (or a home studio setup), or let the beauty of your carefully selected location add charm to your portraits.

About the Author:

SlickPic was created by a group of like-minded photographers and photography-enthusiasts who wanted a service that wouldn't force them to conform to a certain style or niche, but one that would allow them the freedom to use their photos to tell whatever stories they want. They wanted a service that was capable of storing, showcasing, sharing, and displaying photos in all the different ways people use photos: some are meant just for family, some are taken for friends, and some are made for the world to see.
