55007 by Phil Bevan (55007 passing French Drove which had closed to passengers 11 September 1961. French Drove was just over 9 miles north of March. With thanks to Phil Bevan for use of this photograph. Opened as French Drove in Gedney Hill 1867 by the GN & GE Jnt Railway. The station closed to passengers 11 Sept 1961. The March to Spalding line was closed by BR 28 November 1982. As a result container traffic from Felixstowe Port to Yorkshire must travel via Peterborough & Werrington Jn where a new flyover may be built to take them over the East Coast route.)
