Red-light cameras that have stood at three intersections in Poway since 2005 started coming down Thursday once plenty of people started complaining about them. if you were to get caught by one of the camera, youd be fined 565 dollars. Crashes declined during the test period, compared to the six months before the cameras were turned off. In October, the council voted to end its contract with Redflex Traffic Systems Inc., the company that operated the program. This week, the process of physically removing the cameras began.
