Today, I joined the Plateau Chapter of Tennessee Trails Association for this fairly easy hike to Laurel Falls, in the Laurel-Snow Pocket Wilderness, Dayton, TN. The Old Dayton Reservoir used to be the water source for the city of Dayton. Snow Falls is on the other side of Blanchard Creek. The water is running so high and fast, that it has not been possible to cross the creek to the falls. I have been twice, since last fall, only to be turned back by high water. A very experienced hiker, and group, also tried, and failed.
