I thought I was hiking with a few friends but, turned out it was with the O'Connor Senior Center's Happy Hikers group. Imagine - there were 31 on-trail! All of us hiked out Chestnut Top trail but my friends and I turned back for our vehicle. The rest hiked all the way out to pick up their shuttle vehicles. After we returned to our vehicle, one of the ladies wanted to pre-hike a trail where she would be leading a hike some time in April. Turns out, that trail wasn't too far from Sugarlands Visitor Center and all of one-mile. I had to ask - who would drive all that way for only one mile! She said that's all some of the folks want to do. So, we suggested she add in Cataract Falls, behind the Visitor Center, to round out the hike. As you can see from the pics - the sky was blue, mountains were topped with snow, and a fairly chilly day - perfect for hiking.
