052713 Abrams Falls & Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains, TN

Needing to get out of filthy Knoxville but, yet, knowing I would have to be among LOTS of tourists, I decided to head out on my own. I am SO glad I did. I chose a place not too far from home but not difficult to find. The trail was not all that busy, but the parking lot was full. I did not know it also was parking for other trails. On the way back from the falls, I noticed a small group gathered by the creek. That is where the deer were feasting on the algae that grows on the creek bottom. Clearly, they are accustomed to two-legged animals gawking. Good for me and the camera. When I was doing flower pics, I had no idea I was looking at an English Plantain; just thought it was a misshapen Galax. Next time I'll know better and take a pic, just in case. Hope you enjoy!
