This hike was impromptu, as I had planned to hike elsewhere but got a last-minute invite for this one. This was Priscilla's idea, although she had not previously done it, nor had the other two of us. We picked up the Brushy Mountain trail out of Porters Creek. That was a good 4.5-5-mile uphill climb to the junction of Trillium Gap. When we arrived at the Gap, a couple was coming down from Brushy Bald - which we did not do. The weather was closing in up there and did not seem prudent for them to stay to find out what might happen. The Trillium Gap trail was very rocky and root-y - but downhill! The real gem was Grotto Falls. I think the pics turned out very well. Hope you enjoy.
