Eighteen intrepid folks from the Plateau Chapter of Tennessee Trails Assn., out of Crossville, TN, hiked this incredibly beautiful, but extremely difficult, trail in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, near Oneida TN. There were many spots where we had to risk life and limb to drop down to a much lower level or, stretch short legs to get up to another level or, straddle crevasses to reach another area. Even though I did fall when doing a straddle over a boulder and having my right leg slide straight down sideways (unscathed!), we had no injuries and came out on the other side - smiling! Truth be told, we took the trail clockwise (considered backwards), so those two sets of almost vertical stairs would not have to be climbed when we were tired.
At the end, we decided to go down the road a bit and see Double Arch; you'll see a few pics from there.
