Eighteen folks from the Sierra Club (Harvey Broome Group Chapter in Knoxville TN) gathered for this 7-mile hike, where we were treated to magical moments and astounding beauty on distant slopes and right where we were hiking. The last in the bio-diversity series, Mac Post taught us about the trees (one of them already had next year's buds on the tips, while the leaves were saying "fall") around us, and showed us flowers that were preparing for next year's display. We began on the Lead Cove Trail, which was just covered in blow-downs, presumably from the storm that came through just two days prior. If you should visit the area in the fall, this is a wonderful place to get out of the car and see it all.
