Welcome to Marrakech! Tori took this photo from the airplane, as I flew into the military base in my F-16. You can see the Arabic writing on the sign. It doesnt take long to realize that you arent in Kansas anymore.

The taxi drive from the airport to Tori's hotel turned up all kinds of interesting things on the road. These donkey drawn carriage contraptions were extremely common. The roads were filled with donkeys, mopeds, and cars... I thought driving in Korea was crazy, but this was like nothing i had ever seen.
3
Camels were even a common sight on the side of the road here.
4
Here is Tori's hotel. It was located in the old town, and you cant see anything other than the door from outside. Once you step in, however, it is a totally different experience.
5
This was the master bedroom and living room of her Hotel.
6
This was the crazy shower and bathroom under the arch.
7
Enough of hotel rooms--time to head to the market to eat and shop. The Moroccans are a friendly culture, but as you can tell it is a little bit scary walking down some of these roads at night.
8
More pictures on the way to dinner.
9
Tori in the "Souks". This is what they call the outdoor shopping area. You barter for prices on everything you buy. It can be fun, but it can also be annoying.
10
More Souk pictures.
11
Fruit and nut stalls were as common as food and knick knack stalls. They had amazing prunes, dates and sesame covered nuts here.
12
More pictures of the street.
13
Notice the smoke and you can start to imagine what the smells are like around this area. They grill everything from lamb to pig brain, and the air smells of middle eastern incense, grilled meats, and exhaust.
14
This was where we had dinner on night number one. We call it street meat after having watched too many Anthony Bourdain shows. All of the food is up there on the cart and you just point at it and they grill it up for you. It was delicious, and I ate at this place 4 or 5 times over my 2 weeks there.
15
All the girls and their dinner from meat stall.
16
Tori being overwhelmed by the amount of food.
17
This isnt the stall that we ate at, but I took the picture to show you the brains. Look closely and you can see them. I had a brain sandwich with my other buddies before Tori got there.
18
This is the largest Mosque in Marrakech. No buildings in the entire city are allowed to be taller than this Mosque
19
Just another dude on a donkey cart minding his own business. Again, this was a common sight.
20
Typical looking street.
21
We visited the tombs here in Marrakech.
22
Some pictures inside the tombs...
23
More tomb pictures.
24
This is a cool sign and another dude riding around on a donkey cart.
25
Olives anyone!? These places had the most amazing and fresh olives.
26
Meat was often hung from sketchy stalls and both butchered and grilled upon your order. I cant say that proper refrigeration practices were taking place here as the temperatures were pretty hot, but.. somehow I made it out of there without getting sick.
27
Our group briefly lost but I wanted to take more pictures of the smoke so you can imagine all the smells.
28
Fruit stands were common here, and you could pay a dollar for them to freshly squeeze oranges or grape fruits. The fruit was also fresh and tasty here.
29
This was one of my favorite parts of the trip... snakes. I know I know-- I hate snakes, but what is more stereotypical of Morocco than snakes and snake charmers!?
30
Tori chilling with the snake ma and a few cobras... no big deal.
31
More cobras...
32
This is my favorite picture of the whole trip. The dude just threw a snake around Tori's neck after she repeatedly told him not to. I captured it right as it happened. No one got bitten, so I consider it a win.
33
More of the snake crew playing their snake charming instruments. I kept waiting for indiana jones to come running around the corner cracking his whip.
34
This is Tori getting bullied into a henna tattoo. Dont worry, it is not an actual needle. It just dies the skin and stays there for a few weeks. Actually, she still has it on her arm now.
35
Here is final product. Much to Tori's excitement, they decided to cover it with glitter. What can I say, the girl loves things that sparkle.
36
This is the rooftop bar of the nice place we had dinner. Our evening started up here with cocktails and a beautiful view. We were also able to hear a call to prayer as the sunset. Those never got old no matter how many times I heard them.
37
Tori and her friends decided to take a cooking class.
38
This is a lamb dish that is cooked in a Tagine. Tagines are very common here and almost all food is cooked in these devices. You simply put it in the fire or in a stove. They have a top for them that you will see later.
39
The lamb was finished with an almond stuffed date covered in sesame seeds. They goal so well with the lamb, it was super yummy.
40
Tori and her friends getting to eat the meal they spent all day making.
41
This is another nice hotel that we stumbled into off of the streets. You would never know it, but right outside of here was a pretty rough part of town. Go through the door, and it is liked you traveled to a different universe. We had dinner here, and you can see the man across the way making some lovely music for us.
42
This is the same hotel as the previous picture, and we had dinner here around the pool
43
Time for more shopping.
44
Still more shopping....
45
Scenes from the streets. You never knew what you were going to see.
46
I decided to add one more picture of a donkey cart for good measure.
47
This is a view of the shopping area from an elevated cafe. This was the girls' last stop before heading back to the airport.
48
Tori on the plane about to take off.
49
And this is what we ended up buying there. Not too bad all things considered. You can see the tagines. The two on the outside are decorative and not for cooking, but the one in the middle I fully suspect Tori will use to make some yummy Moroccan dishes.
