Welcome to the Piedmont Wine region of Italy. There are 3 main regions in Italy that produce wine. Tuscany is the where Chianti is primarily made, there is Venetto which is the north east region near Venice, and then there is the Piedmont where they primarily make Barolo. We are here at this castle thing to taste some Barolos

We only bought two wines here because they are so expensive. Barolo is a very big, tannin intense red wine. They should be paired with gamey meats and other strong flavors so as to not over power the dish.

The countryside here in Italy was just riddled with little towns, castles, and beautiful vineyards.

Tori and I also stopped over in this town to also taste more wines.

More vineyards from the Piedmont. We would just drive around and pull into individual's vineyards and try their wine. It was really fun.

And here is the first glimpse of Monaco. The weather was super crappy and we followed the windy roads down to the tiny country that has more money than they know what to do with.

The beautiful jagged cliffs of Monaco. That building on the far right of the picture is actually an aquarium. Of course Tori and I paid it a quick visit.

Because there is so much money in Monaco there are a lot of boats, and when there are a lot of boats they need lots of marinas. This was 1 of 3 of them. These were the smaller boats...

I finally decided to put Tori and I in one of the pictures. I think I got lazy with that on this trip.

This is the royal palace. Obviously it is has guards, and obviously Tori needed to get her picture taken with them. He wouldnt let her get too close, but we went with it anyway.

As I said, there is a lot of money in this country. Notice this car and the one right behind it too...

This picture was taken with my back by the large casino in Monaco. Only the fanciest cars were allowed to park in front.

This picture shows the other cars that were not fancy enough to be allowed to park in front of the casino.

One more look at this beautiful city.

And now we are in Nice, France. We splurged and got a hotel room with a view of the Mediterranean. It was a tiny little balcony, but Tori and I wedged in there and enjoyed a Rose from the local area.

This is the Nice marina. Smaller boats in the picture but still colorful and beautiful.

Honestly, this beach looks like anything out of America with the exception of the older buildings. We included this photo so you could see the French flag flying atop the building on the right.

And we are back on the road heading to Marseilles, France. Tori liked this picture because I dont think we realized the landscape would look like this in Southern France.
