Once I had gone from zero esteem to 100% confidence thanks to the acceptance of naturism, I started going out for the first timew in my life. I was always in love with music, it was my lifelong girlfriend who had never deserted me and gave me all the emotional comfort I needed.
I started gigging around Brighton when I discovered Nordic Giants. My best friend Richard has already introduced me to the Hastings scene where I met new-psychedelic prodigies Ceyote. I wrote up a gig review but that was going to be it ....until I saw the greatest show I can remember seeing. I have seen the lot, Led Zep, Yes, Floyd, Genesis, but nothing matched these mysterious guys from Brighton.
Backdropped by film screens, overlaid with historic narratives and flash-lit by a dazzling lightshow, this duo, garbed in horns, feathers, leathers and masks, like traditional Viking Jotnar, produced electronica stretching from classical to Sigur-Ros influenced ambience as I could never have imagined.
Two days later I witnessed Physics House Band, the most inventive, gifted jazz-rock band since the 70s. Then I knew that this was what I was going to be doing for the rest of my life if possible, paid or not.
So I set up Band Profiles on Facebook and before long I was the toast of bands around the county. I couldn't believe it. Most of my friends were now musicians and I realised I am not just the world's most unique male but a talented writer too. Of course I layered my reviews with photos, so you will find the best from the best musical sources in Sussex right here.
Comments & criticism are welcome.
All my photos are taken on a camphone so I know they are amazing achievements.
Most of all..... Enjoy!
