The Tocorpuri volcano (View from the B245 road on the massif of the extinct volcano Tocorpuri (6010 m) on the border of Chile and Bolivia. In the foreground is a swampy floodplain of the Putana river, located at an altitude of about 4100 meters above sea level.)
Rainbow Valley mountains... (The so-called Rainbow Valley (Valle de Arcoiris) is located about 50 kilometers West of the village of San Pedro de Atacama. The local rocks in due to the abundance of salts and minerals differ in an amazing variety of colors. Panorama of 10 vertically oriented frames.)
In the Valley of the Moon... (The so-called "Amphitheatre" is a large rocky remnant of weathering in the famous Valley of the Moon in the spurs of the Salt Cordillera at an altitude of about 2700 meters above sea level. Panorama of 9 vertically oriented frames.)
In the land of salt lakes... (The vast Chaxa salt marsh is located at the foot of the Andes at an altitude of about 2,900 meters above sea level about 50 kilometers south of the San Pedro de Atacama oasis . In the summer months , from December to February, part of the salt marsh after the rains turns into vast shallow lakes that attract numerous waterfowl and waterfowl, primarily flamingos of three species - Andean, Chilean and James's. In the southern part of the salt marsh there is a large deposit of lithium, which has been developed since the mid - 70s of the last century)
At the Red Stones... (Talar high-altitude salt marsh near the border of Chile and Argentina at an altitude of about 4100 meters above sea level.)
On a hot afternoon... (The streets of the small village of San Pedro de Atacama with a population of just under 2000 people, located in an intermountain basin at an altitude of 2500 meters above sea level, are always filled with tourists from all over the world in the summer months. In the background, the snow-capped cone of the Licancabur volcano (5920 m) on the border of Chile and Bolivia.)
Baltinache Lagoons (The Baltinache lagoons, otherwise called Lagunas Escondidas (Hidden lagoons) are 7 deep salt reservoirs in the heart of the Atacama salt marsh at an altitude of about 3,000 meters. Swimming is allowed in the first and last of the lagoons, and the image shows the lagoon with the serial number 6. Panorama of 11 vertically oriented frames.)
The Licancabur volcano (View from a height of about 4000 meters on the volcano Licancabur (5920 m), located on the border of Chile and Bolivia. In the foreground you can see vicunas and Chilean flamingos, feeding in a high mountain valley of the Putana river.)
In the sands of Atacama... (View from the top of the so-called "Big Dune" height of about 60 meters on the bizarre relief of rocky remnants of weathering in the spurs of the Salt Cordillera, surrounding the famous Valley of the Moon.)
