Dona Juana via N-Ridge to Balancing Boulder, return via Colorado Canyon 5/12/19
May 13, 2019May 13, 2019PierreNelWe arrived at the village of Dona Juana (note: both n ~ tilde - this editor bombs out if I try to employ ALT-char) on Mother's day - which is a big event in this neck of the woods. As we alighted our vehicles, an oompah band struck up with bright music from the adjacent church yard.We set out along the N-Ridge following the direct route to False Peak ( ~8,800'). From there our trail led slightly downwards along the edge of dramatic cliffs, to a location which harbors Balancing Boulder and also Picnic Place. These overlook the valley floor in the Colorado Canyon (~7,000'+) below. Our photo records starts at this location below, for lunch around 10:50 am.

Unidentified tree, ~ 6' high, with bright 2" tomato-like fruit. Spiked leaves. No evidence of any 'et' (eaten).Somewhere I read that tomatoes are related to deadly nightshade.No-one offered to test the relationship - and all survived.
