In the late 1970's, due in most part to the Crows Nest Pass Rate agreement, the two Cnadian railways had not updated their grain car fleet. The Government of Canada along with the provincial governments of Alberta and Saskatchewan upgraded the fleet with 86 foot cylindrical hopper cars. The Harper Conservative Government closed the CANADIAN WHEAT BOARD in 2015 and the grain car fleet dispersed to the two railways and leasing companies.
These are the CANADIAN WHEAT BOARD , and the provincial grain cars, that I have shot in the 2000's.
