The Hamilton and Northwestern Lines originally went across Southern Ontario from Hamilton to Barrie. They were then extended from Hamilton to Port Dover. This line was to provide Hamilton, at the head of Lake Ontario, with a broader hinterland, from Lake Erie to Lake Simcoe. Parts of this line are still in use but much has been abandoned. These pictures show various places and were taken over a 25 year period from about 1993.
Update May 2021. The north end of the track at Beeton operated by the South Simcoe Railway was sold and the track lifted so housing can be built.
