After visiting the Arc de Triomphe and strolling the Champs-Elysee in the morning we crossed to the left bank of the Seine over the Beautiful Beaux Arts bridge Pont Alexandre III. We walked past Les Invalides, originally a hospital built in the 1670s by King Louis XIV for wounded veterans and now the Tomb of Napoleon and Army Museum. Our destination was Rue Cler, a cobblestone walking street noted for its many bistros, cheese shops, florists, bakeries, fish mongers and cafes. We had lunch here and then walked to Les Invalides where we visited Napoleon's Tomb and the Army Museum. Afterwards we took a bus back to Le Marais where we freshened up and then had a nice dinner at Vin de Pyrenees, a small restaurant only steps away from our apartment. After dark, Tom ventured out with his camera and tripod to take photos of Paris at night.
