I recently spent an evening hiking around Pedernales Falls State Park, Texas. I brought my new Yashica 6x6 camera and tried some Fujifilm Provia 100F in it. This is a beautiful place with amazing geology. The spring that normally runs just a trickle was gushing water that day. I'm really enjoying this new camera and can't wait to get out with it again soon. We'll see if work and school allow for much free time in the coming weeks. Hopefully they do.
While not recent pictures, recent events in Ottawa brought me back to these. I thought I'd share a landmark from my hometown and some of my impressions of it. I'm looking forward to spending more time here with a camera on my next visit and digging deeper into the town photographically.
I just picked up a Yashica Mat-124G on Craigslist. These are a couple of the first shots. The one of the boys turned out amazing. I did a close crop to show the detail on the medium format film. Wow! The shot of the railroad bridge was a 1 sec exposure in the late evening. I exposed for the wood which came out perfect, but the sky is WAY blown out, and there is a lot of flare. I'll be checking the lens to be sure it is clean. It's in the shop getting new light seals put in. I should have it back this week for more fun. The film is Fujifilm Acros 100.
This has truly been an amazing year for wildflowers. These are a few of my favorite shots from this past spring and summer. We have been blessed with more rain this year, and there are still many to be seen.
After an evening of shooting wildflowers, I stopped by the skate park near my parking spot. I had my Nikon FM2 loaded with with TMax 400, grabbed my 20mm lens, and hung out for a while.
I took some time off the first week of December and went to Enchanted Rock for a couple of days. These are my favorite shots.
