This beautiful day loop was the last of our hikes today. What is really nice about these 3 hikes is, all of them are accessed from highway 41. We were blessed with pretty good weather; however, we did double-step it out of the gorge, once a huge crash of thunder woke us from our reverie. For all that effort, we did not get a drop of rain, just a good scare. Driving back on highway 42, the roadway was soaked so, apparently, we were very blessed. A trail is no place to be in a thunderstorm. The trail becomes a raging river in a matter of minutes, and lightning can pass from one person to another, if folks are bunched too closely together. And, being in a forested area makes it doubly dangerous.
On the way back, great minds were thinking alike, in that, both vehicles turned off to a Mickie D's at the same time. Everyone wanted an ice cream cone or coffee. Thanks for looking.
